Step 1

Next, slice the potatoes and onions into thin slices. Sprinkle them with salt. Then, add the vegetable oil and butter to the skillet.
Step 3
Once the butter in the skillet becomes foamy, carefully add the sliced potatoes and onions to the pan.
Step 4
Cover the potatoes and onions in the skillet by placing a plate on top, and then use something heavy such as a sack of flour or heavy cans to weigh it down.
Step 5
Allow the potatoes and onions to cook undisturbed, letting them develop a crispy peel on the bottom side.
Step 6
Continue sautéing the potatoes and onions for approximately 20 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and develop a delightful crispiness.
