Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3: Cream Butter and Sugar

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).

Step 4: Add Wet Ingredients

  1. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  2. Mix in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.

Step 5: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
