1. Prepare the Apples:

2. Make the Batter:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps in the batter are fine.

3. Combine Batter and Apples:

  • Gently fold the prepared apples into the batter until they are evenly distributed.

4. Fry the Fritters:
