Since ancient times, a large cake brought the whole family together. And it wasn’t just a small family of parents and children. Cakes were often a central part of large family celebrations.
For example, pies were baked for weddings, the birth of children, as well as for funeral rites, where cabbage pies were traditionally served.
For children and adults, cakes were a symbol of important life events. This is probably why the word “cake” comes from the word “party”.
Today, baking has lost its festive exclusivity, which is great because now you can bake cakes for no reason.
